Secretary PTA Balochistan Takes Notice of Overcharging and Misconduct on Quetta–Jacobabad Route

Quetta, Oct 12, — Secretary Provincial Transport Authority (PTA) Balochistan Waheed Sharif Umrani has taken strong notice of public complaints regarding overcharging and mistreatment of passengers by transporters on the Quetta–Jacobabad route.

Assistant PTA Balochistan Haji Jan Muhammad conducted surprise inspections at Gahi Khan Chowk and Musa Colony bus stands, checking fares and directing transporters to strictly adhere to the official rate list issued by the government.

He warned operators against seating passengers on rooftops, citing safety concerns and accident risks. Further directives were issued to Regional Transport Authority officials, Traffic Police, and District Administrations across Quetta, Sibi, and Naseerabad to ensure compliance, with instructions for immediate action against violators.

Secretary Umrani also ordered that official fare charts be displayed prominently at every terminal and inside all vehicles for public awareness, emphasizing that route permits of repeat offenders would be revoked
