Naseerabad, Oct. 13, —
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Naseerabad Muneer Ahmed Khan Kakar formally inaugurated the district-wide polio eradication campaign by administering drops to children at the launch ceremony. The event marked the official start of a comprehensive public health initiative aimed at protecting every child from the crippling virus.

The ceremony was attended by District Health Officer Dr. Abdul Manan Lakti, WHO Representative Dr. Mumtaz Tania, Dr. Ghulam Yasin Dajli, Communication Officer Saddam Hussain, Manzoor Sherazi (PS to DC), Sanaullah Chikhra, and other officials.

Speaking to media, DC Kakar stated that more than 157,000 children under the age of five will receive polio vaccinations across the district. For this purpose, the administration has set up 42 fixed centers and 33 transit points in 39 union councils, where trained health teams are conducting door-to-door immunization.

> “The eradication of polio is a shared responsibility,” said DC Kakar. “All departments must work collectively and ensure timely and effective implementation of the campaign. Negligence or laxity will not be tolerated.”

He added that the district administration is strictly monitoring the entire process to ensure that no child is left unimmunized. Field staff, UCMOs, area coordinators, and supervisory teams have been instructed to maintain complete transparency and submit daily progress reports.

“The anti-polio campaign is not just a health initiative but a national duty,” he added. “All resources are being utilized to achieve 100 percent coverage in Naseerabad.”
