Gwadar, October 14, 2025:
On the instructions of Director General Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Moin ur Rehman Khan, a high-level review meeting on the water-supply situation was held under the chairmanship of Chief Engineer Haji Syed Muhammad. TMC Chairman Majid Johar, councilors, and officials attended.

The meeting examined water distribution across various wards and neighborhoods. The Chief Engineer informed that Gwadar currently receives about 2.8 million gallons of water daily through three main sources — Shadi Kaur Dam, Mirani Dam (via tankers), and the GPA Desalination Plant — resulting in significant improvement in the city’s water situation.

He acknowledged some technical issues in distribution pipelines but assured that GDA engineers and PHE staff are rapidly addressing them in coordination with local representatives. A Water Crisis Management Cell has been activated, staffed with engineers, machinery, and resources to fix disruptions.

Work on house connections for the new pipeline network has begun from TTC Colony, while action against illegal connections is being intensified. Participants expressed satisfaction over the improving water situation and resolved to continue joint efforts among GDA, PHE, District Administration, GPA, and elected representatives to ensure a sustainable and efficient water-supply system for Gwadar residents.
