KARACHI: Former Speaker of the Sindh Assembly and sitting Provincial MPA, Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, passed away today after remaining under treatment at a private hospital in Karachi for nearly a month.
According to family sources, Agha Siraj Durrani had been admitted due to prolonged illness, and despite continuous medical care, he could not recover.
The news of his passing has cast a wave of sorrow across Sindh’s political circles. Leaders from various political parties, colleagues, and citizens expressed deep grief and condolences, paying tribute to his long political career and services for democracy in the province.
Chief Minister Sindh, Provincial Ministers, MNAs, MPAs and political leaders have prayed that May Allah Almighty forgive the departed soul and grant him a high place in Jannat-ul-Firdos.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh President Nisar Khuhro has expressed profound sorrow and grief over the passing of senior PPP leader and former Speaker of the Sindh Assembly, Agha Siraj Durrani.
Nisar Khuhro said, “We share the sorrow of the bereaved family in this difficult time. Agha Siraj Durrani’s services for the party will always be remembered.”
He added that with the demise of Agha Siraj Durrani, “the party and Sindh have lost a principled and steadfast leader.”
Paying tribute to the late leader’s resilience, Khuhro remarked, “He endured great hardships but never bowed down.”
Concluding his condolence message, Nisar Khuhro prayed, *“May Almighty Allah grant the departed soul a high place in His eternal mercy and give patience.
