Balochistan Assembly Committee Visits Gwadar to Oversee Development Projects
Gwadar, Jan 13: The Balochistan Assembly’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts, led by Chairman Asghar Ali Tareen, conducted a thorough visit to various development projects in Gwadar. The committee reviewed key projects under the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), including the Gwadar Water Project, Pak-China Friendship Hospital, Sarbandar GT, Grab Housing Scheme, and the Water Desalination Plant in Karwat.
The committee expressed strong dissatisfaction over the non-functional Water Desalination Plant in Karwat, established under the Balochistan Development Authority. Earlier, GDA Director General Shafqat Anwar Shahwani briefed the committee on the projects.
The committee’s visit aimed to address challenges and funding shortages hindering Gwadar’s development. Other committee members, including Rahmat Saleh Baloch, Zabed Ali Riki, Fazal Qadir Mandokhail, Zamrak Khan Achakzai, Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman, and Additional Secretary Saraj Lehri, participated in the visit.
