15 of Same Family Killed in Tragic Swat Motorway Accident Near Tunnel No. 3

MALAKAND, October 16, 2025:
A devastating traffic accident occurred near Tunnel No. 3 of the Swat Motorway, claiming the lives of 15 members of the same family from Gabral, Swat. According to initial reports, a truck overturned, leaving 15 dead and 8 others injured — including men, women, and children.

Upon receiving the distress call, Rescue 1122 Malakand’s medical response team rushed to the scene along with ambulances. Motorway Police and rescue staff were also present, taking part in the relief and evacuation operations.

During the joint operation, Motorway Police transported several injured persons and bodies to DHQ Hospital Batkhela in their own vehicles, while Rescue 1122 teams shifted the remaining victims to the same hospital.

Doctors at DHQ Batkhela confirmed the deaths of 15 individuals, while 8 injured were given medical assistance. Four of the critically wounded victims were later referred to Swat for advanced treatment.

According to preliminary information, all the victims belonged to a nomadic family from Gabral, Bahrain Tehsil of Swat District, known to migrate seasonally across regions.

The accident was described as extremely severe, but officials said timely and professional response by Rescue 1122 Malakand helped prevent further loss of life.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson confirmed that emergency operations continued for several hours until the area was completely cleared.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic loss of lives, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and said, “We stand with the grieving families in this moment of sorrow. May Allah grant the departed souls eternal peace and the families strength to bear this tragedy.”

Similarly, Federal Minister and President PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Amir Muqam also expressed profound grief over the heartbreaking accident. He said the incident had plunged the entire region into mourning.

He prayed for the departed souls, saying, “May Allah Almighty bless the deceased with Jannat-ul-Firdous, grant swift recovery to the injured, and give patience to the bereaved families.” The minister also directed authorities to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured and full assistance to the affected families.
