Pakistan Army successfully thwarted a major infiltration attempt by Khawarij terrorists taking advantage of the ceasefire, killing between 45 to 50 militants in a powerful counter-operation, according to security sources.

The operation was launched in Mohmand District based on precise intelligence reports. Security forces targeted a large formation of Khawarij attempting to infiltrate from Afghanistan into Pakistan to conduct terror activities.

During the operation, several militants were injured, while the area has been completely cordoned off for a thorough clearance operation. Sources confirmed that intense exchange of fire between the forces and terrorists continued for several hours.
