A powerful explosion took place near Mazanga Police Post in the jurisdiction of Thana Miryan in Bannu on Saturday.
Initial reports suggest that a Zarang rickshaw loaded with explosives detonated before reaching its target after timely police firing.

According to DPO Bannu Saleem Abbas Kalachi, the rickshaw carried a large quantity of explosives intended for a major terrorist attack, but swift police response prevented a large-scale tragedy.
Gunfire was also heard following the explosion, as heavy contingents of police arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area.
Investigations are underway.
