MIRPUR MATHELO:
Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Ghotki Manzoor Ahmed Kanrani, revenue officials including Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtiarkars launched a district-wide crackdown on profiteers and shopkeepers involved in overcharging consumers.
According to official details, surprise inspections were conducted across Ghotki, Mirpur Mathelo, Khangarh, Daharki, and Ubauro, where several traders were found charging prices above the officially approved rates. As a result, fines totaling Rs 25,000 were imposed on violators by the revenue teams.
Deputy Commissioner Manzoor Ahmed Kanrani stated that the ongoing campaign against profiteering will continue with zero tolerance. He directed shopkeepers to sell essential goods at rates fixed by the market committee and to prominently display official price lists for public awareness.
He warned that strict legal action, including heavy fines and imprisonment, would be taken against those found guilty of creating artificial inflation or defying official price controls.
