Balochistan ECP Observes International Day of Rural Women — Focus on Inclusive Voter Registration and Women’s Political Participation Quetta Oct.20

QUETTA: In connection with the International Day of Rural Women, the Office of the Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan organized a dignified event focusing on Inclusive Voter Registration and Women’s Participation in the Electoral Process.
The event was attended by Joint Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan, Syed Waseem Ahmed Jafri, Director Elections Abdullah, Director Admin Naeem Ahmed, Deputy Director Elections Ms. Alia Nazar, as well as representatives from civil society organizations, women’s community groups, and female representatives of various political parties.
Speakers emphasized that rural women play a fundamental role in strengthening democratic processes. Ensuring their registration as voters, they said, is a crucial step toward safeguarding constitutional rights and promoting social development.
Participants stressed the importance of raising awareness among women about their right to vote and ensuring their inclusion in electoral rolls to guarantee democratic stability.
In his concluding remarks, Joint Provincial Election Commissioner Syed Waseem Ahmed Jafri appreciated the active participation of all attendees and reaffirmed that the Election Commission is committed to inclusive representation. He said efforts are being made to make the voter registration process transparent, comprehensive, and accessible to all segments of society.
He concluded that equal representation of women is the cornerstone of a truly democratic society.
