ISLAMABAD, Oct 22 (Independent Report):
Strong tremors were felt across northern Pakistan on Tuesday, causing panic among residents as people rushed out of homes and offices.
According to the Seismic Monitoring Center, the earthquake measured 5.3 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan at a depth of 234 kilometers.
Tremors were reported in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Upper Dir, Dir City, Bajaur, Samahni, Bhimber, and Murree. No reports of casualties or property damage were received till the filing of this report.
Disaster Management authorities urged citizens to remain calm, move to open spaces, and stay away from buildings and tall structures. Emergency response teams have been placed on high alert as aftershocks continue to be monitored.
