Key administrative, environmental, and educational initiatives continue across Azad Jammu & Kashmir, reflecting the region’s focus on governance reform and public welfare.
In Bhimber, SP Khawaja Abdul Qayyum directed police officers to identify professional beggars and non-state individuals residing in the city to maintain law and order. He emphasized the need for maintaining tourist records at hotels and transport terminals for quick response in case of any untoward incidents.
Meanwhile, SDM Headquarters Muhammad Aees Baig highlighted that tree protection and reforestation are vital to prevent natural disasters such as landslides and earthquakes. He urged citizens to plant more trees and preserve nature to combat the impact of climate change.
In Barnala, SDM Dr. Muhammad Rashid Khan declared cleanliness and sanitation a top civic priority, urging citizens and traders to cooperate in dengue prevention efforts. He instructed municipal authorities to strengthen their cleaning campaigns and launch awareness drives in schools and marketplaces.
During a divisional meeting in Poonch, Commissioner Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain vowed to turn government offices into public service centers, eliminating corruption and the culture of favoritism. He warned that any negligence in serving citizens would not be tolerated, stressing that justice and accountability are the foundation of a stable state.
Separately, in Muzaffarabad, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq met with a delegation of the Qalam Alliance School Teachers Organization, who thanked the government for upgrading teachers’ pay scales. The Prime Minister reiterated that education remains a top priority, describing teachers as role models and nation builders.
He affirmed that comprehensive educational reforms and modern teaching standards are being actively pursued across AJK.
