CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad Mirza Calls on Bangladesh Leadership; Discusses Defence Cooperation and Regional Security

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), who is on an official visit to Bangladesh, called on H.E. Mr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of Bangladesh, Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan, Chief of Naval Staff, Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, Chief of Air Staff, and Lieutenant General S. M. Kamrul Hassan, Principal Staff Officer, Armed Forces Division.
During the separately held meetings, both sides held detailed discussions on the evolving global and regional security environment and underlined the importance of strengthening bilateral defence and security cooperation.
The Chairman JCSC reaffirmed Pakistanโs appreciation for its longstanding fraternal ties with Bangladesh and emphasized the shared commitment to further deepen these relations based on sovereign equality and mutual respect. Both sides expressed optimism for expanding defence and security collaboration and reaffirmed their resolve to enhance military-to-military engagements and related initiatives.
During the visit, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza also visited the School of Infantry and Tactics in Sylhet, where he interacted with the faculty and students. The civil and military leadership of Bangladesh appreciated the professional excellence of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their achievements and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Earlier, upon his arrival at Senakunjo, a smartly turned-out military contingent presented a Guard of Honour to the CJCSC, who also laid a wreath at Shikha Anirban to pay homage to the martyrs.
