Balochistan Government Takes Action Against Doctors Involved in Illegal Strike

Quetta, Jan. 15, The Balochistan government has initiated disciplinary action against doctors, paramedics, and pharmacists involved in the ongoing illegal strike and hospital closures. Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar has issued show-cause notices to 29 doctors and pharmacists, including Dr. Bahar Shah, Dr. Kaleemullah, Dr. Saboor Kakar, Dr. Yasser Achakzai, Dr. Hafiz Mandokhail, and Rahmat Agha.

The provincial government has decided to suspend all doctors, pharmacists, and paramedics involved in the hospital closures. The government is also considering canceling the registrations of doctors involved in the illegal strike. Furthermore, the Balochistan government may write to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to take action against the striking doctors.
