The 129th annual spiritual congregation at the revered Pir Zakri Shrine in Sakrand was held with deep devotion, reverence, and a profoundly spiritual atmosphere, attracting thousands of devotees and seekers of divine wisdom from across Pakistan’s provinces and distant regions.
The gathering commenced under the guidance of Sajjada Nashin Syed Muhammad Munir Shah Zakri, with the traditional chadar laying ceremony at the shrines of Syed Muhammad Shah Zakri and Syed Ahmed Shah Zakri, followed by prayers and spiritual recitations that filled the hearts of participants with serenity and divine inspiration.
In his keynote address, Syed Muhammad Munir Shah Zakri emphasized that Sufi shrines have always been centers of peace, love, and humanity. He said that the teachings of Tasawwuf (Sufism) promote self-awareness, tolerance, brotherhood, and compassion — values urgently needed in a world threatened by extremism and sectarian hatred.
He strongly criticized those who exploit religion for personal or political gain, stating that Islam today faces two extremes — one advocating peace and humanity, and the other spreading intolerance and terror. “We must return to the true essence of Sufism,” he stressed, “to nurture a culture of love and coexistence in our society.”
A special blood donation camp for thalassemia patients was also organized during the event, where devotees actively participated. The shrine administration presented appreciation awards to Dr. Muhammad Sadiq Sial, Ghulam Nabi Channa, and Qazi Javed Sanai for their distinguished humanitarian services.
The congregation also featured Na’at recitations and Zikri sessions, creating a spiritually captivating ambiance. Once again, Pir Zakri Shrine reaffirmed its role not only as a place of worship but as a beacon of peace, love, and human service.
Strict security measures were ensured by the police and Rangers, and the gathering concluded peacefully with a heartfelt prayer led by Syed Muhammad Munir Shah Zakri, leaving the devotees spiritually uplifted and filled with renewed hope.
