President Asif Ali Zardari Arrives in Doha on Three-Day Official Visit to Attend Global Social Development Conference
DOHA, Nov 3:
President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Doha, Qatar, on a three-day official visit to participate in the Global Social Development Conference.
Upon arrival at Hamad International Airport, the President and his delegation were warmly received by senior Qatari officials and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar. President Zardari was presented with a bouquet of flowers as a gesture of welcome.
During his visit, President Zardari will deliver a keynote address, where he will apprise the international community of Pakistan’s efforts in social development and inclusive economic growth.
He is expected to highlight the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) as a model initiative in social protection, poverty alleviation, and empowerment of vulnerable segments of society.
President Zardari will also discuss Pakistan’s commitment to the Doha Alliance’s Social Protection and Jobs Compact, and the country’s alignment with global development goals.
Emphasizing the need for mobilizing financial resources to address social and environmental transformations, the President will underscore the importance of the SDG Stimulus and other international development initiatives.
During his stay, President Zardari will hold bilateral meetings with various global and regional leaders as well as representatives of international organizations to strengthen Pakistan’s partnerships for sustainable development.
