Indian Intelligence Raids Jails in Occupied Kashmir — Political Prisoners Harassed and Intimidated

Srinagar:

The Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit of Indian police carried out surprise raids on Srinagar and Kupwara jails, searching inmates’ belongings and cells.

Observers say the operation was designed to intimidate political detainees and suppress voices of resistance. Families of prisoners have appealed to the UN Human Rights Council to take notice of the increasing repression inside Indian prisons.
