Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, in his message on the occasion of Iqbal Day, paid rich tribute to the Poet of the East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, stating that he awakened the Muslim Ummah with the message of selfhood, faith, and perpetual action.
He said that Allama Iqbal’s poetry inspires hearts, enlightens minds, and strengthens moral character, serving as a guiding force for generations. “Iqbal’s philosophy remains a source of national awakening, unity, and self-realization,” he added.
The Deputy Speaker emphasized that incorporating Iqbal’s ideals into national policies, education systems, and social values is the need of the hour. He highlighted that Iqbal’s philosophy of Khudi (selfhood) serves as a beacon of guidance for youth, encouraging them toward leadership, integrity, and purposeful action.
Quoting Iqbal’s famous verse, “The destiny of nations lies in the hands of individuals,” Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah underscored the importance of national unity and collective struggle.
He concluded that Pakistan’s development and prosperity are linked to the awareness, unity, and hard work of its people, which truly embody the spirit of Allama Iqbal’s vision.
