QUETTA, November 10:
The Government of Balochistan has launched a comprehensive modernization drive within the Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR) to align its operations with digital-era communication standards. DGPR Muhammad Noor Khetran said the reform is being implemented under the special directives of Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti to strengthen official media outreach and ensure timely dissemination of authentic information.
During a visit to the Divisional Information Office Kalat at Khuzdar, DGPR Khetran handed over advanced digital cameras, laptops, and drones to divisional officers. He said the government aims to equip all divisional and district offices with the latest media and IT tools to improve documentation, field coverage, and public awareness about provincial development initiatives.
Director Tanveer Ahmed and other senior officials were present on the occasion. Khetran emphasized that the Information Department is the bridge between the government and the people and that efficient communication helps build transparency and trust. “Modern technology will enable us to project Balochistan’s image positively and effectively across all media platforms,” he remarked.
He said the reforms include digital archiving, improved field reporting, and coordinated media strategy to counter misinformation. “We are empowering officers with tools that will transform traditional publicity into professional, fact-based storytelling about Balochistan’s progress,” Khetran concluded.
