QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has imposed complete ban on display or use of weapons as well as pillion riding on the motorbikes (except for women and children) and gatherings (sit-ins, processions or rallies) of five or more persons throughout the province.
According to an official notification issued here by the Home Department, Government of Balochistan the other day, the ban has been imposed under Section 144.
As per the notification, there would also be ban on the tinted glasses on vehicles, unregistered motorcycles, covering of faces in public places, particularly through the use of mufflers, masks or any other means that obstructs identification.
Moreover, the ban has also been imposed on the movement of sulphuric acid and explosives throughout the province, with immediate effect, till November 30, 2025.
Meanwhile, all police, levies and Frontier Corps personnel are empowered and directed to ensure strict enforcement of the order, the notification mentioned adding that “violators shall be dealt with in accordance with law under section 188 PPC and other legal provisions.
It was further said in the order that the concerned Deputy Commissioner shall ensure daily reporting of enforcement status to the Home Department.
