Gas Supply Disrupted in Multiple Balochistan Districts After Major SSGC Transmission Line Rupture Near Mach
Independent Report
Karachi/Quetta, November 15, 2025: A high-pressure transmission pipeline of the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) ruptured near Mach early Saturday morning, resulting in major gas supply disruptions across several districts of Balochistan.
According to SSGC, the 18-inch QPCEP transmission line ruptured at around 5:00 AM, causing a complete suspension of gas supply to the following areas:
Pishin, Kuchlak, Ziarat, Bustan, Hurmazai, Mastung, Kalat, Mangocher, Kad Kucha and adjoining localities.
The company added that a limited, low-pressure gas supply has been arranged through the 12-inch QPL line to certain suburban parts of Quetta, including:
Nawan Killi, Hanna, Sarai Ghurghai, Pashtunabad and parts of the Eastern Bypass.
SSGC’s technical teams were immediately dispatched to the site to assess the damage and begin emergency repair work. The company stated that all possible measures are being taken to ensure timely restoration of the affected pipeline.
The utility apologized to its consumers for the inconvenience and said that emergency arrangements are being made to prioritize gas availability in urban areas, especially during cooking hours.
SSGC noted that it is too early to provide a definitive timeline for the completion of repair work but assured that consumers will be kept fully updated on the evolving situation.
