TURBAT, Nov 20:
Former Chief Minister and MPA Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch inaugurated a new police station in the Josak area of Turbat on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner Kech Basheer Ahmed Baloch, SP Kech Captain Zohaib Mohsin and Mayor Municipal Corporation Turbat Balkh Sher Qazi were also present.
Large numbers of local elders, councillors, political and social leaders, businessmen and police officers attended the ceremony.
Addressing the event, Dr. Malik said empowering the police force is essential for improving law and order in Balochistan. He noted that police performance is satisfactory but challenges such as interference, recommendation culture and a weak justice system allow criminals to evade punishment.
He urged the government to provide full authority and resources to the police to strengthen peace in the region.
DC Kech said Turbat’s growing population of over 450,000 required an additional police station and expressed hope that the new facility will improve security. SP Zohaib Mohsin said the Josak station will particularly benefit residents of remote areas.
Mayor Qazi added that additional staff, weapons and equipment will be arranged to ensure effective policing.
