Dushanbe, November 27, 2025: A cross-border drone attack originating from Afghanistan claimed the lives of three Chinese employees of LLC Shohein SM in Tajikistan, highlighting ongoing security threats from terrorist groups operating inside Afghanistan despite assurances from the Afghan Taliban regime.

The incident occurred on the night of November 26, 2025, at a company camp located in the Khatlon region under the jurisdiction of the “Istiqlal” post of the “Yol” Border Detachment. Tajik authorities reported that the drone was equipped with grenades and firearms, and struck the facility with precision, killing three Chinese nationals on the spot.

The Tajik government expressed strong concern and lodged a formal protest with Afghan authorities, urging immediate and effective measures to secure the border. Officials condemned the attack as a serious breach of regional peace and warned that such incidents could undermine stability in Central Asia.

Security analysts note that this strike reflects the continuing operational capabilities of armed groups within Afghanistan, which pose threats not only to Afghan neighbors but also to foreign investments and international personnel in the region. Tajikistan has demanded enhanced border monitoring and coordination with Kabul to prevent future attacks.

The attack comes amid rising international attention on Afghanistan’s security situation, with foreign governments and multinational companies closely monitoring the safety of personnel in border regions. The incident is expected to spark further diplomatic engagement between Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and China, aimed at safeguarding civilian and business interests along the frontier.
