Gilgit: Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, conducted a detailed inspection of major ongoing national development projects in Gilgit. The Minister began his visit at the Danish School project, where he received a briefing on progress, construction phases, and expected completion timelines. He emphasized the project’s role in providing quality education opportunities for students across Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Minister also visited the Gilgit-Baltistan Regional Grid mega project, where he was briefed on technical progress and future targets. Highlighting the grid’s importance, he said it will enhance energy quality and supply, contributing to industrial and economic growth.
The visit concluded with the inauguration of a new cancer facility at the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission’s Institute of Nuclear Medicine, Oncology, and Radiotherapy (INOR), established under Vision 2025. The facility aims to provide modern cancer diagnosis and treatment locally. Professor Iqbal praised PAEC’s services and instructed enhanced awareness campaigns, particularly for early cancer detection among women and girls.
