QUETTA: In an extraordinary initiative against terrorism, the Government of Balochistan has decided to tighten its net around the foreign-based leaders, commanders and above 300 militants of proscribed organizations involved in terrorism acts in the province.
The provincial government has directed to the concerned authorities to accelerate the prosecution of cases registered against the leadership of banned groups including BLA, BLF, UBA, BRA, BRG and Lashkar-e-Balochistan.
The Chief Minister instructed the provincial government to expedite the action of issuance of Red Notices
with assistance of the federal Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through Interpol.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti reiterated the firm resolve that full action would be taken against everyone involved-from local facilitators of terrorist activities to the leadership of banned organizations, under guidelines of the Provincial Action Plan
These key decisions were made and actions approved during a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, here at the CM’s secretariat on Thursday.
In this extraordinary meeting, certain important matters were approved including strict and exceptional measures for the elimination of terrorist networks.
In the meeting, evidence was presented regarding the contacts, call recordings and other proof of links between the foreign-based terrorist leadership and their local facilitators. A decision was made to launch an immediate and full-scale crackdown against the foreign terrorist commanders and their local helpers.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that effective action against every element involved in terrorism-whether inside the country or abroad-is essential.
He asserted that those who shed blood on the soil of Balochistan would not be allowed to hide anywhere in the world.
He maintained that it is responsibility to expose the true faces of the foreign-based leaders and commanders of terrorist organizations operating under the political disguise.
He instructed that operations be accelerated under the new anti-terrorism laws. The Home Department was directed to further activate the cell established under the guidelines of the Provincial Action Plan.
The Chief Minister further directed that a list of the leaders and facilitators of the terrorist organizations be prepared and that all available evidence be made part of the official record. The compiled record and evidence would be presented at international platforms to initiate legal action.
The Chief Minister said that complete elimination of the elements challenging the authority of state has now become essential, and this phase has entered a decisive stage.
He stated that the motives of the foreign sponsors behind terrorism have been exposed, and that Balochistan would no longer fall victim to any foreign agenda.
He expressed the resolve that there would be zero tolerance against the enemies of Pakistan and Balochistan, that action would continue until the last facilitator is pursued, and that no compromise would be made on the peace of the province, safety of the people or the dignity of the state.
