Balochistan athletes Rashid Khan Jadoon and Kashif Rehan won gold medals at the World Powerlifting Championship in Colombo, Sri Lanka, marking the first international gold for the province in the sport. Competing against athletes from 58 countries, including Australia, Canada, Russia, Nepal, and India, both lifters showcased exceptional skill, strength, and determination. The medal ceremony was held by Colombo’s IG Police, honoring their outstanding performance. Rashid Khan Jadun recently won gold at the Asian Master Weightlifting Championship in Qatar. Both athletes are slated to represent Pakistan at the World and Master Asian Weightlifting Championship in Islamabad, February 2026. Experts say their achievements will inspire youth participation and contribute to the growth of powerlifting in Balochistan, elevating the province’s presence in international sports.
