Provincial Minister for Prisons, Works, and Services, Ali Hassan Zardari, has emerged as a leading example of public-focused political leadership in Sindh. His recent open discussion in Khairpur Mirs highlighted the Sindh government’s commitment to accountability, service delivery, and citizen engagement, under the guidance of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and top PPP leadership including Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Faryal Talpur.

Addressing the gathering, Ali Hassan Zardari said, “We are first party and leadership workers, then provincial ministers. We are from the people, and the people elect us.” This philosophy, he emphasized, underpins the government’s approach to governance, making citizens the central axis of public service.

Hundreds of residents from Khairpur, Kotdiji, and Lyari participated, raising concerns about bureaucratic delays, inefficiency, stagnation of services, and obstacles in public works. The minister immediately directed officials to address complaints, reinforcing the principle that government doors exist to serve the people.

The visit also underscored the importance of institutional reforms, including regular district-level open discussions, tracking systems for complaints, monitoring of prisons, and field visits to infrastructure and social welfare projects. Ali Hassan Zardari’s hands-on approach demonstrates a growing tradition of governance where power and accountability return to the citizens.

The minister’s repeated emphasis on “We are from the people” offers a potential new benchmark for Sindh’s public politics, advocating service as the core of governance and strengthening the link between elected representatives and citizens.
