The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out six intelligence-based operations across the country, arresting seven suspects — including two women — and seizing more than 62.39 kilograms of narcotics valued at over Rs 15.8 million, officials said on Thursday.
Educational Institutions Drug Interdiction
Near a university in Sialkot, ANF recovered 1 kg of ice from two women and a man travelling in a rickshaw. All three suspects were arrested and confessed to supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.
International Drug Interdiction
At a courier office in Rawalpindi, officials recovered 3,400 ecstasy pills weighing 1.392 kg from a parcel arriving from the Netherlands.
Domestic Interdiction Operations
Near Sector G-13 Islamabad, 7.2 kg of hashish was seized from a vehicle and three accused were apprehended.
Near a mall on the National Highway in Hyderabad, ANF recovered 10.8 kg of hashish from a suspect.
In Chagai’s Dalbandin district, 40 kg of opium was recovered during a targeted action.
Near Mandraan Wala Pul on Chashma Road, D.I. Khan, ANF seized 2 kg of hashish from a polythene bag.
Cases have been registered under the CNSA Act 1997, and further investigations are underway, according to the ANF spokesperson
