Mr. Qaiser Nawab, Chairman of the Belt and Road Initiative for Sustainable Development (BRISD), attended the 62nd Jamhuri (National) Day Reception of the Republic of Kenya, held at the Sheesh Mahal, Serena Hotel, Islamabad. The event was hosted by H.E. Lt Gen (Rtd) Peter M. Njiru, High Commissioner of the Republic of Kenya to Pakistan.
The reception brought together members of the diplomatic community, government representatives, and distinguished guests to celebrate Kenya’s independence and its achievements as a leading nation in Africa committed to peace, progress, and multilateral cooperation.
In his remarks, Mr. Qaiser Nawab extended warm congratulations to the High Commissioner and the people of Kenya, acknowledging Kenya’s strategic partnership with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and its important role in fostering sustainable development and regional connectivity across Africa.
He highlighted that Kenya continues to play a pivotal role in promoting multilateralism and global cooperation as the host country of several key international organizations, including the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Nairobi.
Mr. Nawab also noted that Pakistan and Kenya enjoy long-standing friendly relations, rooted in shared values of partnership, mutual respect, and people-to-people ties, emphasizing the potential for enhanced collaboration in trade, education, and sustainable development.
