KARACHI: An intra-club running event was organized by the Karachi United Runners Club at DHA, Karachi, with the participation of more than 100 athletes. The event featured competitions in various categories, with the 10-kilometre race being the main highlight.
The races witnessed tough competition among young athletes, particularly in the Blue category, where Abdul Rehman secured first position. Winners in other categories included Muhammad Tahir Abbas, Muhammad Ubaid, Hikmat Yar Lala, Muhammad Abbas, and Inam Khan.
At the conclusion of the event, winners of each category were awarded trophies, cash prizes, and medals in recognition of their outstanding performances.
Addressing the ceremony as the chief guest, CEO of RK Sports Management, Rais Khan, said that the trend of marathon and long-distance running is steadily increasing in the country. He noted that such events provide athletes with valuable opportunities to showcase their talent and prepare for international competitions. He reaffirmed that RK Sports Management would continue to play its role in the promotion of sports, while emphasizing the need for government-level support and encouragement for athletes. He congratulated the winners and urged them to continue their hard work and maintain strong performances in the future.
Captain of Karachi United Runners, Zahid Gul, stated that the objective of the event was to strengthen a positive sports culture in the city, promote healthy activities within the community, and provide competitive opportunities for athletes. He expressed pride in the large turnout and said that all races were conducted with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. He added that such events help bring the community together and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
