Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has made it clear that no one in the province will be given a job on political recommendation, adding that recruitments in all provincial departments, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies will be carried out strictly on merit through ETEA. He said the provincial government has a zero-tolerance policy against corruption and urged the public to present evidences of corruption, assuring that the government will take indiscriminate actions.
Addressing a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) public gathering in Kohat, the Chief Minister said that 16,000 recruitments in the Elementary and Secondary Education Department have been made 100 percent on merit. He challenged to prove even a single appointment made on political recommendation. He announced that recruitments of 983 jail wardens, 3,200 lecturers, 1,800 police constables and 640 CTD personnel will also be completed soon, with all tests conducted through ETEA.
He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is following the vision of Imran Khan by upholding merit, transparency and good governance, adding that investment in human development is the government’s top priority. He further stated that an open-door policy has been enforced across the province, and all district, divisional and provincial administrations have been directed to ensure that no citizen returns disappointed from a government office. Listening to the people and resolving their issues, he said, is the responsibility of the state.
Muhammad Sohail Afridi announced that the provincial government will provide complete funding for establishing Girls Cadet College in Kohat, a girls’ campus at Kohat University, a 1,000-bed hospital, and the resolution of clean drinking water issues in the district. He said deficiencies at the DHQ Hospital will be addressed, while work on blacktop roads and water supply schemes will also be accelerated.
The Chief Minister said that only Imran Khan’s policy will prevail in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as it represents the rule of the people. Strongly criticizing the Punjab and federal governments, he said those who came into power by stealing the public mandate are now offering advices. Referring the recent survey reports, he said that Punjab Police have become the most corrupt institution in the country, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is making the highest per capita investment in the health sector.
He added that the federal government has committed corruption amounting to Rs 5,300 billion, yet no one talks about it, despite it being public tax money. He said Pakistan’s total debt has reached Rs 80,000 billion, approximately 72 percent of GDP. He added that the dollar has been artificially controlled, and that Imran Khan had already warned that once it is allowed to free-float, its price would exceed Rs 300.
The Chief Minister said that fake government and institutions are trying to subdue Imran Khan and eliminate Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He said that use of water cannons on Imran Khan’s sisters and fabricated cases against Bushra Bibi are part of this campaign. He said those who were supposed to protect the public mandate are looting it instead. Muhammad Sohail Afridi further stated that Imran Khan has sent a clear message from jail: ‘Freedom or Death’, and PTI will secure true freedom. Responsibilities for negotiations or protests have been assigned by Imran Khan to Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, and the Chief Minister confirmed that full cooperation has been assured. He urged the public to remain prepared whenever called upon
