Peshawar — A prolonged and unexplained power outage in Killi Kochian, Aka Khial, Alo Milly Ghara, Tajak, Gari Saddu and surrounding localities along Warsak Road, Mathra, has exposed what residents term criminal negligence by the PESCO Peshawar office. Electricity has remained unavailable since November, forcing residents to endure freezing winter conditions without basic utilities.
Despite repeated written complaints, personal visits and direct appeals to PESCO’s chief office, authorities have failed to restore supply or issue any explanation, reflecting administrative apathy and institutional paralysis. Residents allege that PESCO officials have abandoned their constitutional obligation to provide essential services.
The crisis has worsened as prolonged power cuts have also disrupted water supply, leaving families without drinking water. Children, elderly people and patients are the worst affected.
Residents have demanded immediate restoration of electricity as per the official schedule with proper voltage, warning of protests and legal action if negligence continues.
