PM Shahbaz Sharif Lays Foundation of Autism Center, Urges Collective Responsibility for Special Children

Islamabad – Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the foundation of the Center of Excellence for Autism, emphasizing that it is the government’s duty to empower special children and make them confident, self-reliant, and socially active. “Special children are the nation’s future,” the Prime Minister said, urging society to collectively support their development. He announced 15 grant-funded coaching positions for the center and instructed officials to complete the facility within one year, ahead of the original two-year schedule. During the ceremony, special children performed the national anthem, presented musical compositions, and showcased their artistic talents, reflecting their unique abilities. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif highlighted that everyone contributing to this noble cause would earn blessings in this world and the hereafter. Federal Minister for Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and autism expert Ayesha Haroon praised the initiative, sharing experiences of working with special children. The project aims to provide professional training, psychological support, and inclusive opportunities for children with autism, ensuring they integrate into society effectively while achieving personal development milestones.
