Panwar Community Protests Against Demolition of Shops and Arrests

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Residents of Village Jan Muhammad Panhwar near Tando Adam staged a protest in front of the local press club against the alleged demolition of their homes and shops and the arrest of community members by the police. The protest was led by Ghulam Qadir Panhwar, Irfan, Nazir Ahmed, and Gul Hassan Panhwar, who raised slogans demanding justice.

According to the protesters, Zulfiqar Saand, Amir, and others, in alleged collusion with the police, demolished ten shops at Pannah Shah Mori and houses belonging to farmers Papu, Chetan, and Hari. They also claimed that the police seized valuables and arrested 12 individuals, including Piyaro, Raheel, Amir, Razaq, Khalid, and Amjad.

The protesters alleged that the action was carried out under the orders of DIG Shaheed Benazirabad and demanded the immediate release of those arrested and a fair investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, SUP leader Comrade Muhammad Khan Panhwar condemned the incident and called for justice for the affected families.

On the other hand, Zulfiqar Saand denied the allegations, stating that he had legally purchased the land from the Panhwar community seven years ago. He claimed the Panhwars neither vacated the property nor completed the legal formalities. “We reclaimed the land through lawful means, and their accusations are baseless,” he added.
