Independent Report
Quetta: Residents of Satellite Town, Abdullah Town, Gol Masjid, and surrounding areas are facing extreme hardships due to a severe gas shortage. Gas pressure has dropped so drastically that even small stoves cannot operate, leaving households unable to cook meals.
Citizens report that the shortage has become routine with dropping temperatures, while Sui Southern Gas Company has yet to take effective measures to improve the situation. The company reportedly justifies the cuts with various excuses, although the real cause appears to be poor management and negligence.
Residents also complained about ongoing heavy billing despite limited gas supply, calling it highly unfair. Vulnerable groups, including the elderly, women, and children, are particularly affected by the shortage in harsh winter conditions.
Local communities have urged Sui Southern Gas Company and relevant authorities to immediately restore uninterrupted gas supply in Satellite Town and nearby areas. Citizens warned that failure to act may trigger protests and strong public reaction.
