Islamabad to Ban Non-M-Tag Vehicles from Jan 1

Islamabad (Independent Report):

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reviewed measures for the protection of citizens’ life and property during a visit to the Islamabad Safe City Headquarters. Accompanied by Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, he inspected the city’s monitoring system through the digital wall and observed technology-based public safety operations.

The interior minister directed authorities to accelerate work on the Capital Smart City project and announced that entry of vehicles without M-Tags into Islamabad will be banned from January 1. He said Islamabad would become Pakistan’s first smart city and sought a comprehensive plan to transform the existing Safe City project into a Capital Smart City.

Mohsin Naqvi also inspected security surveillance at the special Chinese desk in the control room and expressed satisfaction over modern law-and-order initiatives.
