ISLAMABAD, Dec : The second day of the 53rd National Athletics Championship was conducted successfully and witnessed outstanding performances by athletes from across the country.
A total of 18 events were smoothly conducted during the day in a befitting and well-organized manner, said a press release.
The highlight of the day was the Pole Vault event, where Asif of Pakistan Army created history by establishing a new national record, clearing an impressive height of 4.95 metres (NNR).
This remarkable achievement reflects the rising standard of athletics in Pakistan.
Another major achievement was recorded in the 110 metres hurdles, where a new national record was set with an excellent timing of 13.70 (hand time) seconds, further adding prestige to the championship.
