Mir Liaquat Lehri Says Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s Vision of People-Centric Politics Remains the Guiding Light for PPP

Quetta: Mir Liaquat Lehri, Member of the Balochistan Assembly from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Parliamentary Secretary for Transport, paid tribute to Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on his birth anniversary, highlighting his transformative role in empowering ordinary citizens and shaping Pakistan’s democratic governance.
Mir Liaquat Lehri said Shaheed Bhutto was a visionary national leader who made the people the cornerstone of political power, integrating workers, peasants, students, and marginalized communities into the nation’s governance framework. “He gave Pakistan a unanimous Constitution and instilled political awareness among the masses, enabling them to assert their rights and participate actively in national affairs,” he added.
The parliamentary secretary emphasized Bhutto’s landmark achievements, including the Constitution of 1973, the promotion of unity across the Islamic world, and a foreign policy rooted in national dignity and self-respect, describing them as reflections of his farsighted leadership.
Mir Liaquat Lehri reaffirmed that the Pakistan Peoples Party remains the custodian of Shaheed Bhutto’s ideology, continuing its struggle for democratic stability, supremacy of the Constitution, and public welfare. He also acknowledged Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who carried forward her father’s mission with immense courage and sacrifice, defending democracy in Pakistan against authoritarian threats.
Highlighting Bhutto’s contribution to Balochistan, Mir Liaquat Lehri noted that the province owes a debt of gratitude to Shaheed Bhutto for strengthening provincial rights and reinforcing the federal structure. “Today’s development initiatives, public representation, and governance reforms in Balochistan are practical extensions of his philosophy,” he said.
He concluded by pledging that the PPP will continue to serve the people of Balochistan, enhance the transport system, expand public facilities, and promote democratic values, ensuring that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s mission endures at every level.
