Shaheed Zakir Hussain, who embraced martyrdom during an anti-terror operation in Gwadar’s Jiwani area, was laid to rest with full military honours at his ancestral graveyard in Bela, Lasbela district, on Monday.
The funeral prayers and burial were attended by Pakistan Army officers, senior police officials, elected representatives, family members, and a large number of local residents. During the burial, the atmosphere resonated with patriotic slogans, including “The martyr’s death is the nation’s life,” as participants paid glowing tribute to the fallen soldier.
Special prayers were offered for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks, while speakers highlighted his courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the defence of the country. The armed forces contingent presented a guard of honour, reflecting the state’s recognition of his supreme sacrifice.
According to official sources, Zakir Hussain laid down his life while bravely confronting terrorists during a security operation in Jiwani, Gwadar district. His actions were described as a symbol of valour and devotion to national security.
Residents termed his sacrifice a source of pride for the entire nation, stating that such martyrs live forever in the hearts of the people. Authorities reaffirmed that the country would continue to remember and honour the sacrifices made by its security personnel in the fight against terrorism.
