Quetta, January 6: The Balochistan Food Authority initiated a comprehensive inspection of hotels, restaurants, fast food points, and pizza corners to ensure safe and quality food supply. The campaign covered key areas including Samungli, Airport Road, Sariab Road, and Mechanic Road. During inspections, 48 food outlets were checked, with 25 found violating safety standards. Action included fines on 16 hotels, 4 fast food corners, and 5 pizza outlets; Chinese salt and unsafe cooking oil were confiscated or destroyed. Minor violations at 9 outlets prompted corrective notices. Director General Waqar Khurshid Alam stressed that public health is the authority’s top priority and warned operators to adhere to hygiene and food safety regulations to avoid penalties. The campaign will expand citywide to ensure safe, clean, and standard food supply.
