Independent Report
Islamabad, January 7:
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs on Tuesday reported that 93 percent of public complaints received across Pakistan in 2025 were successfully resolved, with action taken on 21,281 applications during the year.
According to an official statement, the complaints were handled through the Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievances Wing as part of efforts to improve public access, transparency and accountability in government processes. Most complaints related to land occupation, delays in FIR registration, police conduct, irregularities in utility bills and issues concerning financial assistance. Applications from overseas Pakistanis were also included.
To facilitate easier access, the ministry introduced a universal complaints number 111-555-554, while a nationwide awareness campaign sent around 123 million SMS messages informing citizens about grievance redressal mechanisms. As a result, public engagement increased, with complaints rising from 12,597 in 2024 to 21,281 in 2025.
Special complaint desks were also established in flood-affected districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, where most of the 445 complaints received were resolved on the spot with local administration support.
The ministry further stated that regular meetings were held to review complaint resolution, while a track-and-trace mechanism was introduced to monitor parliamentary business and government responses. During the year, the ministry facilitated standing committee meetings, monitored official assurances, supported legislative work and strengthened coordination between parliament and the executive to improve governance and public service delivery.
