The government is committed to improving governance through comprehensive performance reviews of all ministries, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference, he explained that the purpose of the performance reports is to strengthen self-accountability and ensure ministers remain responsible for their duties. He added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed all ministries to present their yearly targets and achievements to the public.
Dr Tariq highlighted improvements in key sectors including investment, power, maritime affairs, mines and minerals, foreign affairs, and climate change management. He said the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs’ Grievance Wing efficiently addressed 20,000–30,000 complaints in 2025, maintaining a disposal rate of 93%.
The minister also emphasized the ministry’s role in political and public representation, promoting democracy, transparency, and stability. He reaffirmed the government’s readiness for dialogue with opposition parties to resolve national issues through peaceful negotiations.
