Winder, Konaraj: Alleged illegal operations at crushing plants in Winder have reportedly reached their peak, with valuable minerals being transported daily to Karachi and other parts of Sindh for substantial sums. According to informed sources, these activities constitute a blatant violation of mining laws and systematic exploitation of natural resources.
Sources indicate that the owners of these crushing plants, allegedly aided by district administration, the Department of Minerals, and other authorities, are transferring sand, gravel, and other construction materials using trailers and dumpers without fear of legal action.
This illegal operation is causing significant losses to the state treasury, while local communities face environmental pollution, deteriorating roads, and the destruction of the natural balance in hilly areas. Residents have highlighted that the indiscriminate cutting of hills has not only harmed the environment but also threatens the scenic beauty of the region.
Local citizens and environmental advocates have urged senior authorities to take immediate notice, conduct transparent investigations, halt illegal activities, and ensure legal action against those involved, so that Winder’s natural resources can be protected for future generations.
