LARKANA: Police on Saturday carried out decisive operations against organised crime, arresting five alleged drug traffickers — including a serving woman police constable — and killing a highly wanted outlaw carrying a bounty of Rs2.5 million in a separate encounter.

Police said coordinated raids across different localities, conducted under the supervision of SSP Larkana Ahmed Faisal Chaudhry with intelligence support, led to the arrest of Nazia Korai (woman constable), her mother Farzana, and three alleged drug dealers — Khalid Abro, Kamran alias Wadhayo Abro, and Saleem Patafi. More than two kilogrammes of crystal meth (ice) and over 12kg of hashish were recovered.

Investigators alleged the woman constable used her police uniform as cover to transport drugs to various districts of Sindh. Departmental and legal action has been initiated. The operation was supervised by DSP Aqil Fahad Irshad Mughal and CIA Incharge Arshad Mahmood Malik.

In a separate incident on Sehwan Road within Garhi Yasin police limits, police said a shootout during snap checking resulted in the killing of Kehar alias Keho Jatoi, a notorious criminal wanted in over 53 cases, including the murder of Inspector Mir Muhammad Khoso. A Kalashnikov rifle was recovered, while combing operations are under way to trace his accomplices.

Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar lauded the police action, praising DIG Larkana Nasir Aftab Pathan, SSP Ahmed Faisal Chaudhry and their team, and reiterated continued government support for action against drug peddlers and criminals.

SSP Chaudhry said the crackdown against drugs and crime would continue, stressing that no one was above the law.
