Karachi: Karachi United Runners Club held a ceremony to honor its athletes who delivered remarkable performances at the Karachi Marathon and Lok Sahta Sukkur events. Medals and certificates of appreciation were distributed among athletes who secured top positions in the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10-Kilometer Race, and Relay events.
Karachi runner Saqib Khan Yousafzai, who achieved an impressive 8th position among 7,000 participants in the Karachi Marathon, was presented with a special shield by Karachi United Runners in recognition of his outstanding performance.
Speaking on the occasion, Karachi United Runners’ captain Zahid Gul said: “We will continue to recognize and appreciate our athletes’ achievements to promote running and healthy activities in our city, Karachi. Our aim is to encourage more people to join the running community and adopt a healthy lifestyle.”
He further emphasized that promoting sports is a vital need for a healthy society, and Karachi United Runners Club is committed to continuing these efforts. Zahid Gul added that government support is also essential to encourage athletes. “If athletes are nurtured and supported at the grassroots level by the government, they can represent the country on the international stage and bring honor to the nation,” he said.
