The White House has announced the formation of the Gaza Board of Peace as part of President Donald Trump’s broader Middle East peace initiative. According to official statements, Major General Jasper Jeffers has been appointed commander of the International Stabilization Force linked to the initiative.
The board includes US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, and presidential adviser Jared Kushner. Senior advisory roles have been assigned to Aryeh Lightstone and Josh Gruenbaum, while former UN envoy Nikolay Mladenov has been named executive member and senior representative for Gaza.
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, along with Mark Rowan, Ajay Banga, and Robert Gabriel, has also joined the board. The Gaza Board of Peace aims to coordinate security arrangements, humanitarian assistance, and reconstruction efforts while promoting governance reforms within Palestinian institutions.
US officials say the board will work with regional and international stakeholders to ensure stability and long-term development in Gaza, although the initiative has drawn mixed reactions globally.
