Jacobabad: Six Police Personnel Arrested in Custodial Gang-Rape Case; Medical Report Confirms Assault

Six police personnel have been arrested in connection with the custodial gang-rape of a teenage girl in Jacobabad, following public outrage, protests, and intervention by senior police officials. The case surfaced after allegations that a 17-year-old girl, Asia Khoso, was sexually assaulted during police custody at RD-52 police station.
According to police, the incident occurred after the detention of two sisters from a village in Garhi Khairo tehsil. Initial inquiries revealed that while the Station House Officer was on leave, the victim was kept in custody where an ASI, head constable, and other personnel allegedly committed the crime. The arrested officials include ASI Mehrab, Head Constable Abdul Nabi, and constables Yaseen, Barkat Khadim, and Mir Hassan.
A preliminary medical examination conducted by a lady doctor has confirmed sexual assault. SSP Jacobabad stated that the accused officers will face strict legal action and dismissal from service. A judicial notice has also been taken, and further investigation is underway.
