Karachi, January 19, 2026: The Sindh High Court’s constitutional bench has sought responses from all parties on a petition challenging the ban on “Chingchi” rickshaws on city main roads. During the hearing, officials from the Transport Department requested more time to submit their reply. The petition claims multiple government notifications have restricted rickshaw operations, affecting drivers’ livelihoods. The court noted that arguments will proceed after receiving official responses. The next hearing is scheduled for February 4.
