Los Angeles: Renowned Disney animator, director and writer Roger Allers, co-creator of the iconic animated film The Lion King, has passed away at the age of 76. His death was confirmed by close associate and producer Dave Bossert.
Allers played a pivotal role in shaping Disney’s golden animation era, contributing to classics including Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid. He began his career in 1982 as a storyboard artist for Tron and later rose to global prominence with The Lion King in 1994.
Colleagues remembered him as a humble, kind and visionary artist whose work inspired generations. His creative legacy remains deeply embedded in animation history, influencing storytellers and audiences worldwide for decades.
