Nasirabad: Vice Chairman of Kachhi Canal Irrigation Union, Zakir Hussain Lehri, has strongly condemned baton-charge and arrests of employees and Grand Alliance leaders protesting for the Demand Relief Allowance (DRA) and other legitimate demands.
In a statement, Zakir Hussain Lehri accused the Balochistan government of using force instead of addressing genuine grievances. He said government employees across the federation and other provinces have already been granted DRA, while Balochistan employees continue to face discrimination.
He termed the government’s approach “anti-employee” and warned that suppressive tactics would not deter workers from their lawful struggle. According to him, employees across the province are united under the Grand Alliance platform and determined to secure their rights.
Lehri emphasized that arrests, imprisonment, and pressure cannot silence a movement based on justice and fairness. He reaffirmed that employees will continue their peaceful struggle until DRA and all legitimate demands are accepted, adding that withdrawal from the movement is not an option under any circumstances.
